Annus Mirabilis: Latin for "Wonderful Year"

A wonderful year starts with a list of wonderful goals. My goals this year, as every year really, center on art. I am fortunate to have two large exhibitions slated for 2011, so from these I hope to springboard forward into new artistic realms. Below is an ever growing list of New Year's resolutions for 2011. Happy New Year!

1. Art Complex Museum Show
2. Rolly-Michaux Gallery Show
3. Show of new work (monotypes and photographs)
4. Implement Studio Day*
5. Start the Art Life website*

*Studio Day is a day set aside for creative endeavors and experimentation. In this way I guarantee breaking new ground. It will be modeled on the purpose of the Bauhaus foundation course as outlined by Moholy-Nagy in his book New Vision: "It's objective is spontaneity and inventiveness, to give the student a universal outlook, to make him conscious of his creative power. The method is to keep, in the work of the grown up, the sincerity of emotion, the truth of observation, the fantasy, and the creativeness of the child."
